The smoke detector signal, manual pull-cord activation, and the 70°C fusible link all trigger the valve to close automatically. Within a 0° to 90° range, the valve blade offers five adjustable positions for airflow control and can also output a valve-closed signal. The fire damper features a 280°C melting point for automatic closure; it is normally open and provides an electrical signal output. This type of damper is similar to fire dampers and fire-regulating dampers, except that its melting temperature differs. It is typically used in fire-drafting ducts where they pass through fire-rated compartments. When the flue gas temperature exceeds 280°C, the damper automatically melts and closes, enabling interlocked shutdown of the smoke exhaust fan.
