Induced-draft fan: Also known as jet fan or relay fan, it uses induction to transfer air. Its own airflow rate is relatively small. CHERRITOR Induced-draft fans are a new type of fan designed based on the principle of high-speed jet-induced ventilation. A sub-system of induced-draft ventilation composed of multiple such fans can be integrated with supply fans and exhaust fans to form an entire ventilation and smoke-extraction system. The operating principle is that directional, high-speed airflows ejected from the nozzles of multiple induced-draft fans—properly arranged and designed as part of the system—induce fresh outdoor air or treated air to flow into the desired areas without the need for ductwork, thereby achieving optimal indoor airflow distribution and delivering highly efficient and cost-effective ventilation and air exchange. When using a ductless jet-induced ventilation system, costs associated with designing, manufacturing, installing ductwork, and other related supporting works can be eliminated. These costs typically far exceed those of the induced-draft fans themselves. Moreover, since the entire floor surface serves as the ventilation duct, the required static pressure for supply and exhaust fans is significantly lower than when ductwork is used. This allows for the selection of fans with higher airflow rates but lower static pressures, reducing the power consumption and substantially lowering both operational costs and initial investment expenses. Even when the supply and exhaust fans are shut down, the induced-draft fans can continue to operate independently, providing localized ventilation and air exchange. The induced-draft fans are equipped with high-efficiency centrifugal fans that feature remarkably low noise levels, compact size, light weight, and easy installation via suspension. ( Both vertical and horizontal types are available. ) With its simple maintenance features, it has been widely used for ventilation in large-scale venues such as underground parking lots, gymnasiums, workshops, warehouses, shopping malls, supermarkets, and entertainment venues.
